Framing Frenzy

Awhile back I took some xs pieces over to my frame closet in our storage trailer and matched most of them up with frames.  I’m just now getting in the framing mood and have an update.  As always, thanks so much for taking time to check these out.  🙂

This one-color piece actually has a lot more to it.  There is a beautiful huge mermaid, but I got tired of messing with it and thought this was a good stopping point.  It’s on 16 ct. hand-dyed fabric that is just gorgeous in person.

This is from the Grand Canyon kit I got while on vacation there in 2007.  Below this update is a closer picture of it.

This is Love Birds and San-Man Rose.  I love these frames and knew they would come in handy one day!  I buy them when I see them instead of wishing I had later LOL

LK Spring ABCs was a fun piece to xs,

Twas the night… by JBW.  This is one of several adorable charts in this series.  I decided to frame this instead of make into a tree ornie.

In October, 2007, we went to the Grand Canyon.  I got this kit there. We had the best vacation ever and went to many other place besides the Grand Canyon.  This has been a UFO for quite awhile and recently I made myself finish it.  It’s totally xs with many MANY color changes.

Can’t remember title of this piece, but it was fun to xs.

A Bride’s Tree Ornie, but I xs’d it because I love things with pinecones.

This is by JBW and comes with other charts, too.

This is a bd card I xs’ed for my best friend, Bobbie Sue, from Louisiana.  We have been friends for 45 or so years.  Thanks for looking 🙂  I couldn’t get the typing beside the right pictures.  Just read down – ackkkkk

Went to a great estate sale today, but they didn’t have all the boxes emptied and will have everything out tomorrow.  Here is what I got today:  This is  an original Clyde Gray painting on tiles.  I thought the info on the back was interesting, too.   Next is a beautiful (in person) framed picture of the Last Supper.  I couldn’t get a better picture for some reason.  Then there are two wonderful vintage brooches and tomorrow I’m going thru the jewelry a little better 🙂  I got this nice white plate to use later for a xs “frame”.  Last is the Jonathan & David kids holding a 50th anniversary plate.  We’re not there yet, but working toward it 🙂

I finished these 3 pieces into pin cushions.  The heart one is for a friend.  The Thank-You note is for a wonderful new friend who helped us ease into the crazy world of Medicare.  Without Stephanie’s help we would still be staring at supplement offers! The Snow Happy is from the new JCS ornie issue.  He’s one of the very VERY few I like in there this year.  Thanks for looking 🙂

Three new finishes :)

Happy Halloween from JCS Sept/Oct 2011 issue on 18 ct. mingledy (is that a word LOL) orange aida from Rani – thanks Rani 🙂 Mum’s the Word by Primrose Needleworks on 18 ct. white aida I coffee-dyed.  Queen of Halloween by Helga Mandl from her Halloween Ornie Chartpact #1 on 18 ct. aida I Rit dyed.  The other designs in Helga’s #1 Chartpack are equally as cute.  I bought and downloaded them from Creative Poppy site.  You have to love that INSTANT stash  LOL LOL  Thanks for looking 🙂

Blog Update 6-20-11

Here are a few xs pieces I’ve done recently.  Thanks for looking 🙂

This is All Belong to the Lord by Shelly Auen on 18ct.white aida that I (instant) coffee dyed. I bought the chart on Pattern Mart site which is a great place to look for designs and after paying they are emailed to you 🙂

1808 pinkeep by Annie Beez Folk Art.

Pink Baby Foot card and envelope.  This is for the young man at the beauty shop who dares to work with my waist-length hair all the time LOL  I know, I know, the “baby” is already over a year old!  LOL

Sampler from Country-Side Chicks leaflet – one of 4 designs.

Abigail Wentworth by West Wind Designs on 18 ct. white I dyed light blue with Rit Dye. This is from the Gift of Stitching #64 June, 2011.  This was a fun piece to work on 🙂

I am now able to wear normal shoes as my ankle is – supposed to be – better.  Three toes are still a little numb and there is a tightness around my ankle, but hopefully time will take care of this.  If you have been reading my blog you will remember my two freebie designs I put on here for everyone.  I have pictures to show you of Sharon’s finishes – which are always just amazing!

The hearts are all beads!

The letters are all done in beads!

Thursday and Friday we went to Salado, TX, where there are sooo many neat shops and I do believe we made all of them LOL  Of course the more “flea market-like” the better I like them 🙂  Here are some of our buys – but not all cause I bought some gifts that I can’t show right now.

This is a vintage sprinkler and also a dragonfly doorknocker – they are NOT connected, just pictured together.

Clock in a nice box with drawer.

Cattails metal art – really hard to get a better picture.

Two Avon bottles and a small leather coin purse.

New keychain and mirror compact.

Very large square jar with metal lid and ceramic insert.

Four pretty vases with flowers and their carrier – by Marjolem Bastin.

New fabric from a quilt shop.  Much prettier in person.

My husband just laughs at this sign – he does most of the cooking LOL

Beautiful teapot cozy front and back.

Fabric pear, square frame, Penguin face fan and little tote with kitchen cloths in it.

The next picture is of my new design – May Flowers. I will try to get the chart on here for anyone wanting to xs my freebie.  You can also email me for the chart at texas522girl@yahoo.com .  Thanks so much for looking at my “new” things 🙂
