This cutie is Angel in My Pocket by Deborah at Midsummer Night Designs and she designed it for a fundraiser for a friend.  I xs’ed this angel in green and sent it and backing fabric to Sharon who sewed it into this beautiful “doll”.    She presented it to our wonderful friend, Darlene, as a loving gift from both of us.  Darlene, we hope you love her 🙂  If you want to check out this chart, please visit here:  http://stitchingandscribbling.blogspot.com/   Thanks for looking 🙂

My friend, Tobie, in OK, sent me this beautiful tuckaway she made!  I was so impressed with it I sat right down and xs’ed a tiny freebie for it called Spring Egg on 22 ct. over one with TWO threads to make it stand out some.  I used a DMC light blue that matches that color in the fabric and cording she used.  This was so much fun to xs and of course the instant “finish” into the tuck really made my day!  Thanks, Tobie!!! 🙂  The colors are much much brighter in person and the fabric is very sparkly 🙂

Next is LK Be Kind To Animals and is framed in one from my stash.  I enjoyed xs’ing this piece, too.

Next is Under the Sea by BrightNeedle and I xs’ed and framed it in 2003, BUT………. recently decided to put a bunch of shells on the frame.  The shells were my friend Linda’s from a trip she took.  I think they really added to the overall look.  My daughter, Valerie, said this is HERS and NOW! 🙂 Thanks for checking these out 🙂

Today I received a beautiful mailart envelope from Hilal Barutcu from Turkiye.  She did mail it in a brown envelope instead of “pure”, but had it stamped before that.  She added a little note inside and a skein of thread.  This is part of the Lizzie Kate mailart theme.  Thanks for looking 🙂  JUNE 2011 UPDATE:  She asked to have her address covered up after all this time and I’m not sure how to do that so I just deleted the whole picture.

I am in a xs mailart yahoo group and we exchange xs envelopes with different themes.  This theme is Lizzie Kate, a designer who is one of my favorites.  My envelope has been received by Taffy in Missouri so I can now show the pictures.  When I receive the envelope for me I will show pictures of it, too.  This envelope goes thru the mail “pure” or as is, with NO covering at all.  Ladies all over the world participate in these exchanges and it’s amazing the trips many of the envelopes go on.  Thanks for looking. 🙂  I put a TEXAS magnet and a tiny xs kit inside my envelope for Taffy.

We went to the DFW area Friday thru today for our daughter’s birthday.  We all had so much fun and ate way tooooo much LOL   Valerie teaches Yoga and Saturday her dad and I attended her class and we actually made it all the way thru 🙂  He was able to do more than I was tho.  Here he is and we did have to use the wall for balance a couple of times LOL

This is Valerie in a pose I couldn’t do! This was after class.

She and our SIL, Sean, ate with us at Frijoles where they have a huge Statue of Libery and this is probably as close as I’ll ever get to the real one:  We went to several thrift shops Friday and spent a lot of time Sat. afternoon at the Lone Star Antique Mall which is huge to say the least!  I love it of course.  My major buy is this xs/embroidery piece of a perpetual calendar and frame and all it is 21 x 27.  Each month piece and day number is held on with velcro and you change it around each month.  Soooo much work went into this beautiful piece and I only paid $20.00 for it!!!  I wouldn’t xs one of those round circle for that!!!  This is another piece of my Rescued Needlework  project.

My friend Sharon came to Valerie’s with her husband and her cousins and we exchanged some things we had for each other that were too heavy to mail.   I brought some xs things to show her and also a piece to give to our friend Darlene for me.  This is called Coffee Patch and is a freebie I did for Darlene: The whole frame is really light brown – no yellow on it like the picture.  Darlene loves quilting and drinking coffee 🙂

This is a freebie from Sampler Girl called Eat Your Carrots.  The frame is from my stash:   I did this on 22ct. with one thread over one on ivory aida.  It was such a fun piece to xs.  You can find the chart on Sampler Girl site.  Thanks for check out my “new” things.  I did get more from the shops, but will show them another time. 🙂
