I have been blessed to have met Darlene thru Sharon. The 3 of us have a lot in common and I decided to make a sewing box as a surprise for Darlene. This is sort of Victorian postcard-ish as you can see in the pictures. The backing fabric of the pin cushion I xs’ed for her worked out great with the box design. I put a few little “treasures” in it like a locket with ribbon, old hanky, beaded scissor fob (from Cracker Barrel!) and matching tiny green scissors and so on. Most of the boxes I use for sewing boxes originally came with stationary in them which I take out. Darlene told me today that she loves everything and I’m glad to be showing it off for her 🙂

These gifts are from my xs friend Jane. This is a most unusual and unique pin cushion because of the xs design and also the pins which she made! I love it and really like what she put on the back, too. She sent me a nice bd card and 2 packs of marbled aida. The picture isn’t very clear, but one is marbled blues and the other is marbled brown/tan. The brown/tan one would be great for an “old” sampler design. Thanks for everything, Jane 🙂
These are from my long time xs friend Sharon. She is so multi-sewing talented! I love everything. She made this beautiful xs from Blackbird Designs and pillow. She even covered the buttons with the pillow fabric! I love this finish. She made me this adorable doll – I know, I know, I haven’t outgrown them yet 🙂 🙂 Sharon is the Tuckaway Queen and just look at this TREE shaped tuck she made for me!! Now to find the perfect xs for it 🙂
I’m not the best picture taker, but wanted everyone to see what the mailman brought me today! These gifts are from Deborah of Midsummer Night Designs and you can see her designs here: http://stitchingandscribbling.blogspot.com/ First is her card that opened and opened and opened I love it! Along with the card is a tuckaway bag with ties that is just adorable! Can’t wait to xs for it! And also there is a beautiful little square box that is soooo ME!
Next picture is a PM kit that is adorable with the tuckaway and button included as well as the threads. The wooden thread palate (think that’s what you call it) is very unique and I’ve been wanting something like this for thread for a long time 🙂 There is an adorable clip with charms on it and the box says It’s Hip to Clip – you can clip it to your purse, keys, etc. I love BLING!!!! 🙂
Next is a metal star on stand with a little sign that says BELEIVE and has a red and white checked bow. This goes perfectly with the theme throughout my house! The next picture is of Deborah’s latest designs and it looks like I’ll have a lot to keep me busy for a day or two LOL LOL Thanks for everything, gf. I even love the gigantic zip bag you put the things in 🙂

Yesterday I took 6 xs pieces (some years old) and 3 frames I had to Hobby Lobby. I found 3 more frames on for half price and the dumped everything at the framing counter and said call me when they’re ready! The framer assured me she was NOT afraid LOL LOL Because the framing dept. was slow I was able to pick these up today less than 24 hours later! I don’t have all the info handy to write by each one, but if you are interested in anything just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for looking 🙂 First is Freedom which I did in honor of 9-11.Next is the Needlework Shop in frame. I think this is by LHN. I changed a few things on it like putting AIDA on there in place of LINEN and put my xs name – Texas X’s. The wreath on the door has Texas yellow roses on it. The frame is a mingle of several colors and I never would have guessed it would be perfect in person for this piece!Next is from years ago and by Alma Lynne. I forgot to date it tho. I like the “lace” look on this piece. The Bakery was a fun piece. It may be by Country Cottage. I have a pic of the xs upclose, too. Oops, one picture jumped to the top! How rude!! The last two are in the same type frame. It’s hard to find good sized square frames! One is with Sheep and the other is Almost Blackbird with spoon and bird charms.I am thrilled *I* didn’t have to frame these myself 🙂
Anita made this adorable floss tag and used several metal grommets (?) on it that are hearts. She included a zip bag of differnet shapes of them for me 🙂 Also, she gave me several beautiful threads by Carrie which are yummy!! She found me the PS Santas and Snowmen chart that I’ve been looking for and is now OOP. Thanks for everything, Anita! You can check out Anita’s things here: http://anitas-stitching-addiction.blogspot.com/
She made the beautiful xs card for me. The mini DMC kits are ME ME ME!!! Both samplers are adorable and I’ve started on the Spring design. The following are beautiful pieces of Royal Crown Derby China she sent me in their original boxes and they are most stunning in person! Having things like this from Gill in England is a real treat! The dish on the left is a jam dish with tiny knife. The other piece is a tiny pitcher which has some design just inside the edge at the top. Thanks so much for everything, Gill. I know a lot of thought went into each item. 🙂 I am adding larger pictures of the china pieces.
