In October, 2008, we went to the Grand Canyon. I got this kit there. We had the best vacation ever and went to many other place besides the Grand Canyon. This has been a UFO for quite awhile and recently I made myself finish it. It’s totally xs with many MANY color changes.

Can’t remember title of this piece, but it was fun to xs.

A Bride’s Tree Ornie, but I xs’d it because I love things with pinecones.

This is by JBW and comes with other charts, too.

This is a bd card I xs’ed for my best friend, Bobbie Sue, from Louisiana. We have been friends for 45 or so years. Thanks for looking I couldn’t get the typing beside the right pictures. Just read down – ackkkkk

Estate sale finds and I’m going back tomorrow!

Went to a great estate sale today, but they didn’t have all the boxes emptied and will have everything out tomorrow. Here is what I got today: This is an original Clyde Gray painting on tiles. I thought the info on the back was interesting, too. Next is a beautiful (in person) framed picture of the Last Supper. I couldn’t get a better picture for some reason. Then there are two wonderful vintage brooches and tomorrow I’m going thru the jewelry a little better I got this nice white plate to use later for a xs “frame”. Last is the Jonathan & David kids holding a 50th anniversary plate. We’re not there yet, but working toward it

I finished these 3 pieces into pin cushions. The heart one is for a friend. The Thank-You note is for a wonderful new friend who helped us ease into the crazy world of Medicare. Without Stephanie’s help we would still be staring at supplement offers! The Snow Happy is from the new JCS ornie issue. He’s one of the very VERY few I like in there this year. Thanks for looking

Happy Halloween from JCS Sept/Oct 2011 issue on 18 ct. mingledy (is that a word LOL) orange aida from Rani – thanks Rani Mum’s the Word by Primrose Needleworks on 18 ct. white aida I coffee-dyed. Queen of Halloween by Helga Mandl from her Halloween Ornie Chartpact #1 on 18 ct. aida I Rit dyed. The other designs in Helga’s #1 Chartpack are equally as cute. I bought and downloaded them from Creative Poppy site. You have to love that INSTANT stash LOL LOL Thanks for looking

I am now able to wear normal shoes as my ankle is – supposed to be – better. Three toes are still a little numb and there is a tightness around my ankle, but hopefully time will take care of this. If you have been reading my blog you will remember my two freebie designs I put on here for everyone. I have pictures to show you of Sharon’s finishes – which are always just amazing!

Thursday and Friday we went to Salado, TX, where there are sooo many neat shops and I do believe we made all of them LOL Of course the more “flea market-like” the better I like them Here are some of our buys – but not all cause I bought some gifts that I can’t show right now.

This is a vintage sprinkler and also a dragonfly doorknocker – they are NOT connected, just pictured together.

My husband just laughs at this sign – he does most of the cooking LOL

I know this is “a day late and a dollar short” as they say LOL XS this and you’ll be ahead for next Valentine’s day This is on 18 ct. white aida with DMC 666, Christmas Red – BRT – for Be Mine and one Heart, plus DMC 604 Cranberry LT – for one heart and outlines. Ignore the black wigglies – I couldn’t figure out how to delete them once I made the mistake LOL . This piece is 42 x 42. XS and Ankle update, Part 2

My ankle still has a lot of pain and I went to a foot/ankle specialist recently. He said I have a torn ligament which requires another surgery. No one ever told me this in the beginning or that I should consult a specialist! I’ve had a ton of therapy which I think has only aggravated my problem! Not sure of surgery date yet, but hopefully within the next two weeks. Meanwhile, I have been xs’ing and have put 3 things in tucks – love those fast finishes. The tucks were made by Sharon and are just perfect as usual

I also want to thank my xs friends for all the beautiful Christmas things. I am sorry I didn’t get pictures of everything before putting them around the house, on the tree, etc.

Tuesday, Nov. 16th, at physical therapy I put my (broken ankle) foot on the floor for the first time. I was able to put a little pressure on it while walking with a walker. I will be going to therapy twice a week for quite awhile to come. This has been a long and emotional time for me. I have spent many many days in the recliner with my leg propped up and welcome the therapy of starting to put weight on my foot now. The dr. says I have mended well, but it will take time to get over this completely. I appreciate the calls, cards, visits and gifts from my wonderful friends.
